Madonna on the cover of ELLE

In May’s issue of ELLE magazine our newest cover star Madonna talks intimately to Louise Gannon about her new album, family life, staying in shape and her love of Cadbury Creme Eggs … This year Madonna turns 50, yet on the cover of this month’s ELLE magazine, out tomorrow, you would hardly believe it. In her latest interview she tells us just how she stays at the top of her game and reveals how she keeps in such incredible shape. “There are no short cuts to being Madonna,” she tells us. “It’s all about hard work. There is no easy way. If you want to know how I look like I do, it’s diet and exercise and constantly being careful.” She also swears by oxygen facials and never goes in the sun, drinks rarely and would like to work out for three hours a day, she reveals in a candid interview on the eve of the hotly anticipated release of her 26th album, Hard Candy. It probably comes as no surprise that her routine is regimented and strict and that’s how she gets such great results. “I’m not going to slow down, get off this ride, stay home and get fat!” she declares. But isn’t it hard to be perfect all the time Madge? “One of the worst things about Britain is that it has such fabulous candy,” she says and lets slip that when she’s worked particularly hard at something, like the rest of us she rewards herself with a treat. “I love Cadbury Fruit and Nut, Crunchies and Maltesers. But my absolute favourite is a Cadbury Creme Egg. I bite straight in to it and suck all that good stuff right out!”

Madonna top ten history
MADONNA will trump Elvis Presley, The Beatles and Michael Jackson this week, if her latest single lands in the U.S. top ten - the 37th time she has managed the feat.
Her collaboration with Justin Timberlake - 4 Minutes - is hotly tipped to reach the top ten, which will lift her above Elvis Presley, who made the top ten 36 times in his career.
The Beatles stand third in the all-time list, with 34, ahead of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson on 28.
2008 has been an eventful year for the Material Girl. As well as a new album and rumours of a world tour to promote it, the 49-year-old was inducted into the Rock’n'Roll hall of fame earlier this month.

Madonna didn´t fit in
Madonna has never been one to conform.
In high school, “I wasn’t a hippie or a stoner,” she tells the May issue of Vanity Fair, on newsstands April 8, “so I ended up being the weirdo. I was interested in classical ballet and music, so the kids were quite mean if you were different. I was one of those people that people were mean to. When that happened, instead of being a doormat, I decided to emphasize my differences.”
It’s a philosophy the superstar, who turns 50 in August, has kept all these years. After all, she says, “if your joy is derived from what society thinks of you, you’re always going to be disappointed.”
In VF, Madonna shares that when she started on her album Hard Candy (out April 29), she didn’t know what sound she wanted. “I just knew I wanted to collaborate with Pharrell (Williams) and Justin (Timberlake).” It took time to get comfortable: “It’s not like we hit it off right away. Writing is very intimate. You have to be vulnerable and it’s hard to do that with strangers.”
The Material Girl seems to have evolved into a woman who embraces giving. Her 90-minute documentary, I Am Because We Are, is screening at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. The movie focuses on Malawi and its orphans. In it, she explains how she learned about the African nation and why it has meant so much to her.

Madonna´s E Interview

E! Online dishes details of an exclusive interview with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Madonna. The Material Girl made an appearance on an E! satellite radio show, commenting on everything from Britney Spears, to her upcoming album and the relentless rumors that her marriage is on the rocks.
In her interview, Madonna says that Spears still remains a favorite among 11-year-old daughter Lourdes’s choice of singers.
Apparently, Spears is a favorite of Madonna as well, as she had a few choice words for the media coverage surrounding the recovering star. “They need to step off,” Madonna said of the tabloid and paparazzi focus on Spears. “For real…Let’s go save her.”
In relation to her own tabloid woes, Madonna cautions that headlines can be deceiving.
“We still have to take turns,” the singer said of husband Guy Ritchie, with regard to marital compromise. “It’s not easy.”
“You know how people are. It is ridiculous,” she says of the recent tabloid frenzy. “I don’t pay much attention to it.”
As of now, Madonna is currently gearing up for a U.S. tour this summer, and is slated to release her new album, Hard Candy, on April 29.
“It is sexy,” she said. “I think it’s got some hard set beats, but there’s some sweetness on top. I like the juxtaposition.”

Madonna´s busy schedule
The 49-year-old singer - who has a seven-year-old son Rocco and an adopted two-year-old boy David with husband Guy Ritchie, as well as an 11-year-old daughter Lourdes from a previous relationship - makes sure her hectic diary is a balance of family life and work commitments.
She told Q magazine: “I have to eke out the time. One day I don’t see my kids much and the next day I make sure I do.
“You look at your calendar and you go, ‘OK, this day’s crazy. But OK, this day I’m going to take my daughter to ballet. The next day I’m going to be gone all day. So the day after I’m going to make sure I’m around for dinner and bathtime.’ ”
Despite her astonishing achievements, the pop superstar - who is one of the most successful female recording artists of all time - claims she still has one challenge left.
She said: “What else is there for me to conquer? Hopefully my ego. How will I know when I’ve succeeded? When I stop caring what anyone thinks.”
Madonna, who bared all for her controversial book ‘Sex’, also dispelled assumptions she is a supremely confident person.
She said: “I can be shy and nervous about things. People will never think that about me.”

Candy Shop

Candy Shop is produced by Pharrell Williams & while it has it’s charms, it doesn’t compare to the beat of her current single - 4 Minutes. It is still a great Pop record will only help fuel the fire of expectation around Madonna’s new album - Hard Candy, which seems to have a Hip-Pop feel to it.

She also wants to improve her parenting skills while carrying on her pop career.
She said: “I’m sure I wasn’t put on this earth just to make records. So there are a lot of things I want to achieve.
“I’d like to become a better human. I would like to learn more and I would like to be a better parent.
“I would like to direct more films and write them. I’ve only done one.”
