Madonna is set to adopt a baby from India, following her trip to the country in January.

The pop queen is said to have given up on adopting a girl in Africa after getting frustrated with red tape.

According to sources, Madonna hopes to choose a baby after she finishes promoting her new album.

During her holiday in India, Madonna met Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrkar – who has also adopted an Indian baby.

‘Madonna was very taken with Sandip. He told her there were orphans who would melt her heart. Guy was against the idea, but when she wants something she gets it,’ reveals a source to The Sun.

Madonna and hubby Guy Ritchie took two years to adopt their Malawian son David.

‘Guy thought Madonna was mad to want to go through it all again,’ adds the source.

‘He has always been unsure about adoption as his own mother was adopted and had negative experiences of that.’

Madonna can be shy and nervous

geek01.jpgMadonna has defended her intense exercise regime, saying it helps hone her vocal skills.

The ‘4 Minutes’ singer - who was photographed with bulging biceps as she left a London gym recently - believes people are unfairly critical of her dedication to working out.

She said: “My body is an important instrument as well as my voice. Does working out really help with singing? Yeah, absolutely. Using your diaphragm properly is connected to having good posture.

“Your body is one organism. You can’t separate it. If you are not in good health your vocal cords will suffer. Everything will suffer.”

Madonna also revealed people don’t realise how shy she is, and often misread it as arrogance.

She added to Q magazine: “I can be shy, yeah - and nervous about things. And people will never think that of me. Shyness should be regarded as a quality? Yes. It can be read as arrogance.”

Madonnas work is never done

Madonna put in her usual hours at the gym on Friday, and stepped out into the London sunshine clutching her BlackBerry. She’s always been dedicated to her physical fitness, but did you know that she also has a very close relationship with her gadgets? Madonna even told Elle that she sleeps with her BlackBerry under her pillow every night! Can’t say that this comes as a big shock to us — even when she’s asleep, Madonna’s work is never done.

Madonna the Miracle

05. April 2008 0 Comments

miracle.jpgShe turns 50 in a couple of months, and while those cheekbones betray some nip-tuck action, Madonna’s stunning vital statistics are all her own work. In the 25 years since she first hit the charts, the superstar has sold over 200 million units to become history’s most successful female musician. Her personal fortune stands in excess of €250 million.

And there is no end in sight to the blonde ambition of the woman who famously “pulled herself up by her bra-straps” and who was recently inducted into America’s Rock’n'Roll Hall Of Fame. This month she releases Hard Candy, her 11th and final studio album for Warner Brothers, the label she signed to in 1982.

It is exceedingly rare for any label to stable an artist for 26 years. Most acts are cruelly dumped once sales start to falter. Madonna has never had that problem. When she suffered the worst dip of her career, with 2003’s American Life, it still shifted five million copies. Her last Warners release, 2005’s Confessions On A Dance Floor, shipped a phenomenal eight million copies at a time when CD sales were plummeting in the face of competition from the download market.

m.jpgThe quest to reach out to Bay City’s most famous offspring has begun.
Mayor Charles M. Brunner has drafted a letter inviting Madonna to come home to Bay City and finally accept a key to the city.

City Commissioner Christopher J. Shannon, frontman for a local rock band, is planning a Madonna tribute album in which he hopes to recruit local musicians to cover hits such as “Like a Virgin,” “Express Yourself” and “Vogue.”

Guy Greve, president of the Bay Arts Council, wants to go as far as commissioning an artist to sculpt a statue of Bay City’s Material Girl.

“The local arts council would like to pay homage for her artistic contributions,” he said. “I could see a sculpture of her in Bay City. One of Madonna’s famous poses could be made into a sculpture.”

Bosses at Vanity Fair are auctioning the polystyrene and plaster globe MADONNA poses alongside on the cover of the magazine’s May (08) issue for an upcoming charity auction.
The Material Girl signed the globe, drawing a heart over Africa.
The proceeds of the eBay.com auction, which starts next week (beg07Apr08), will benefit Madonna’s Raising Malawi charity, which helps orphans in the African nation - one of the poorest in the world.
The singer is also offering two tickets for a New York show she’s planning at the end of this month, accommodation and dinner as part of the auction package.

Madonna gives up 2nd adoption?

05. April 2008 0 Comments

jury.jpgAccording to The Sun, MADONNA has dramatically SCRAPPED her two-year bid to adopt a Malawian girl.

Instead she will support the orphan financially from Britain.

The 49-year-old singer told aides she has been left “exhausted” by a mountain of red tape.

Her adoption of Malawian son David Banda, two, was finalised this month. Pals were sure she would be bringing home Mercy, also two, as a sister for him.

But Madonna — who has two other children and is wed to Brit film director GUY RITCHIE — feared another TWO YEARS of legal wrangling.

A family friend said: “Madonna wanted to adopt a boy and a girl.

“But Mercy’s relatives objected and she had a complete turnaround.

“Everyone was stunned. Normally nothing will stop her.

“She now believes David will be the last child she adopts. Instead she will support orphans through her charity.”

Pop superstar Madonna, ready with her new album Hard Candy, has distributed 100 autographed copies of the Vanity Fair issue featuring her at the Kabbalah centre in Los Angeles.

Madonna has been working hard doing promotional work for her album by appearing on numerous TV shows, radio call-ins, magazine covers and stories.

According to a source, “Madonna picked up 100 copies of the magazine at Al’s newsstand on South Beverly Drive, signed them all and then distributed them to Kabbalah devotees at the centre on Robertson Boulevard.”

Apart from promoting her own album, the pop star is hooked on to British singer Jamelia’s songs.

Madonna has been quoted as saying: “There is this English singer here called Jamelia. That’s what I’ve been listening to at home.”

Jamelia replied, “I was shocked. I love Madonna. She’s the type of artist I model myself on.”

Adoption Hearing Postponed?

04. April 2008 0 Comments

madonna-live-8-tq.jpgAccording to Females First, Madonna Wants Adoption Hearing Postponed….

Pop superstar Madonna has appealed to a Malawian judge to postpone her forthcoming court appearance in her ongoing adoption case, because the date clashes with her U.S. promotional duties for new album Hard Candy.

The Music hitmaker and her director husband Guy Ritchie are due to attend a hearing in Malawi next week (begs07Apr08), when a judge at the country’s High Court is expected to formally approve the couple’s adoption of two-year-old David Banda.

But on Thursday (03Apr08), Madonna’s lawyers filed a motion to delay the important hearing until the end of April (08).

A court official says, “They have made that application at (the) High Court today and the judge is expected to respond this afternoon”.

The initial 2006 adoption caused outrage in the African nation; Madonna and Ritchie were accused of side-stepping the official adoption process.

However, the Hollywood stars appear to have won over Malawian officials with their parenting skills. In a confidential report dated 25 March (08) - which has been leaked onto the internet - Probation Officer S. Chisale at the Ministry of Women and Child Development praises the couple for looking after Banda so well.

The report reads: “In the best interest of the child, I do recommend the petitioners (the Ritchies) to your Lordship for your consideration that they be granted an adoption order, having proved that they are suitable parents and satisfied the conditions in the Interim Adoption Order”.

Madonna’s new album, Hard Candy, is released at the end of April (08).
